I had the absolute pleasure of working with Hailee on a rebrand for Inkwell Threads, an online shop for people who love a good story. Hailee was looking for a brand identity that was modern and fun with some vintage elements that would speak to her ideal customer – modern bookworms looking for some cute and comfortable tees!

One of the first steps in my brand design process is to develop a mood board that will help guide the color palette and overall direction of the brand.

Hailee loved the mood board so I knew we are on the right track. I then created two unique brand concepts for her to review. The winning concept has a fun retro serif font combined with a floral illustration element that was inspired by Hailee’s love of classic literary romance novels.

Logo Design

For her secondary logos and submarks, I designed some modern badge logo elements and used a bookmark banner for a fun logo variation. The bookmark elements were also used as Instagram story highlight covers which was a fun way to bring the brand elements into her social media presence.

Finally, we worked on creating branded tissue paper, stickers, and thank you stationery for Hailee to use in her packaging. I came up with the idea of turning her thank you stationery into a bookmark instead of a traditional card. This was a great fit for her business because her customers are book lovers and they may actually use the bookmark while most thank you cards are typically thrown away.
