I recently had the pleasure of working with The Healing Hive, a trauma-informed therapy collective based in Duluth, Minnesota, to bring their brand and online presence to life. This project included strategic brand development, custom logo design, and a fully custom Showit website built to reflect their calming, compassionate, and expert approach to therapy.

The Healing Hive specializes in perinatal mental health, individual therapy, and couples therapy, so creating a safe, warm, and trustworthy digital experience was essential.

Brand Strategy & Visual Identity

Our branding work began with strategy—getting clear on who The Healing Hive serves and how they want clients to feel when interacting with their brand. As a collective of trauma-informed therapists, it was crucial that every visual element communicated safety, warmth, professionalism, and healing.

Key brand elements included:

• A grounded, earth-tone color palette featuring warm browns, olive green, cream, and soft lavender
• A warm, approachable serif font paired with a clean, modern sans-serif font for balance
• Custom brand marks and pattern incorporating organic plant shapes and soft curves to symbolize a safe space for growth and transformation
• Multiple logo variations, including a honeycomb emblem—a subtle nod to the hive metaphor

The logo design subtly mirrors themes of nature, community, and growth, while the honeycomb shape echoes the structure and harmony of a beehive—reinforcing The Healing Hive’s mission of collective support.

Showit Website Design

With the brand identity in place, I moved into the custom Showit website design. Showit is my go-to platform for service providers who need flexible, beautiful websites that are also easy to update.

Website goals:

• Create an intuitive and calming user experience
• Highlight specialties in perinatal, individual, and couples therapy
• Encourage new client inquiries through clear calls-to-action
• Introduce lead therapist Kristen Kruger with warmth and professionalism
• Support SEO for terms like Duluth therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and perinatal mental health support

Key features of the site include:

• A clean homepage with inviting photography and soft organic shapes
• Clear service breakdowns to help visitors self-identify their needs
• A visually rich but calming “About” section to build trust
• Simple, styled navigation to reduce overwhelm and encourage exploration
• Integrated contact form with a “Book a Call” CTA for lead generation

This was a deeply thoughtful brand and website strategy that reflects the integrity and heart of The Healing Hive’s work. Every color, curve, and word was chosen to help potential clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach out.

As a designer, it’s a privilege to collaborate with mental health professionals who are doing such meaningful work. My goal was to honor that work with a brand and website that’s as compassionate and grounded as they are.
